* NOTE: All the tributes of All About Limassol (as the Official Guide of Limassol) aim to ONLY highlight the special aspects of this wonderful city, so that everyone can be aware of the unique Experiences it offers. Under no circumstances do they have any promotional or nominal value, nor do they serve the interests of Companies, Municipalities, Organizations or Individuals.

No, Limassol (fortunately of unfortunately) has no gold mines, but gold is still present if you know where to look. Its countryside has some invaluable treasures for sure, who count as advantages both for the eyes and soul, as well as for the banking accounts.

Vineyards reaching up to 1400 meters above sea level, perennial plane trees and tall poplars by the rivers and water springs, compose the image of this natural treasure that one finds in all its glory at Kyperounda village. The largest mountain village in Cyprus, is something that Limassol is proud of and there is a reason for that.

The beauty and glory of this place, especially in the autumn, is truly unique, with countless pieces of land turning the area all gold with their leaves. These are the highest vineyards in Europe. The vine harvest lasts until November, which allows to the grapes to mature in a different pace and produce wines that are famous and sought out for their taste in the entire world. Apart from the commercial gain though, this is image is so amazing that makes you feel suddenly richer and blessed to be in this land.
